Mesh not showing up in Roblox Studio?

The mesh imported, it sits in the Explorer, and nothing draws in the viewport. Drop the GLB or OBJ here and read the causes your file can actually show evidence for, ranked, each with the count it was measured from and the fix that follows.

Built from counts, not hunches

Every line of evidence below is a number taken out of your file: how many faces wind inward, how many have no area, which axis is too thin to see, how many edges border a single face. Geometry, normals, UVs and the embedded texture are everything a GLB or OBJ can say.

Ranked, and honest about it

The order runs from the causes that can leave nothing to draw at all to the ones that change how a visible surface looks. That ordering is this tool's judgement call, not a Roblox specification, which is why each cause carries its own measured evidence beside it.

Invisible is not the same as white

A prop that renders blank or white is usually a texture problem: an embedded image with no UV coordinates to map it onto. The ranked list keeps that separate from geometry that genuinely never gets drawn, so you fix the right thing first.

Invisible mesh: common questions

Why is my mesh invisible in Roblox Studio?

The causes a mesh file can prove are ranked on this page: faces wound inward get culled, zero-area faces have nothing to draw, a mesh scaled to nothing is too small to occupy a pixel, a single-sided sheet disappears when you look at it from behind, and a texture with no UV coordinates renders blank rather than invisible. Everything else that hides a mesh (transparency, LocalTransparencyModifier, a MeshId that never uploaded or was moderated, streaming, lighting or a model that fell out of the world) lives in your place file, not in the mesh, so the checker lists it under what it cannot see.

Can this checker tell me why my mesh is invisible?

It can tell you whether the file carries any of the six causes it measures, and it reports the count behind each verdict. It cannot see anything about your Studio session, so it will never claim a transparency setting, a broken MeshId or a streaming limit as the reason. Use it to rule the file out (or catch it), then work through the Studio-side list.

What does flipped or inward winding look like in a file?

Two faces that share an edge should walk that edge in opposite directions. When they walk it in the same direction, one of them is facing the wrong way, and a closed shell that encloses volume while winding inward is entirely inside out. Roblox draws the side a face points at and culls the other unless the MeshPart is set to DoubleSided, so inward faces are exactly the surface you are looking for and cannot see.

The winding row says everything is fine, so why does the mesh still vanish from one side?

Because an open surface has no enclosed volume, so which side counts as out cannot be read from the file at all. The checker reports consistent winding when every shared edge is walked in opposite directions by its two faces, and reports an open surface as its own cause further down the list. A single sheet is correct for a foliage card and wrong for a crate, and only you know which one you modelled.

My mesh renders white, not invisible. Is that the same problem?

No. A surface that draws but shows no colour is a texture fault: the base colour image is embedded but the mesh carries no texture coordinates for it to map onto, or (for an OBJ) the image never travelled beside the MTL. The ranked list reports it, with the dedicated texture checker covering it in full.

Prefer reading? The invisible model guide walks through the Studio-side causes this checker cannot observe (transparency, a broken MeshId, streaming, lighting).
