Texture blank or white in Studio?

A mesh that renders white in Studio is usually missing one of two things: UV coordinates for a texture to map onto, or a texture that never travelled with the file. Drop the GLB or OBJ here and read what the checker actually found in it.

No UVs, no texture

A texture is a picture of a pattern; UV coordinates say which part of that picture lands on which corner of the mesh. A file with a texture but no UVs has nothing to map, which is the blank surface people see in Studio.

GLB embeds, OBJ points at files

A GLB carries its base colour texture inside the file. An OBJ keeps it in a separate image beside the MTL, so everything Studio needs has to travel together in one ZIP or the import arrives with no texture at all.

SurfaceAppearance needs more

SurfaceAppearance reads colour, normal, roughness and metalness maps from separate image assets and places them with the mesh's UVs. This checker verifies the base colour and the UVs underneath it; the PBR maps are authored in Studio.

Blank textures: common questions

Why is my mesh white or blank in Roblox Studio?

The import arrived without a texture it can use. Either the mesh has no UV coordinates (TEXCOORD_0) for the texture to map onto, or the texture did not travel with the file. This checker reports both, so you know which of the two you are fixing.

How do I know if my mesh has UV coordinates?

This checker reads them out of the file: the diagnosis lists whether UVs and normals were found, next to the triangle count and stud size. In Blender you can see the same thing in the UV Editing tab with the mesh selected; an empty UV window means the export has nothing to map.

Does an OBJ need its texture file next to it?

Yes. An OBJ holds geometry and points at materials in an MTL file, which in turn points at an image file, so all three have to stay together during import. The Studio ZIPs from this site carry model.obj, model.mtl and the texture image in one archive. GLB sidesteps it by embedding the image.

Why does the texture look right in Blender but white in Studio?

Blender resolves the image from your project folder, and that folder does not exist inside Studio. When the export neither embedded the image (GLB) nor shipped it beside the MTL (OBJ), Studio renders the surface with no texture, which reads as white or grey.

Can the checker tell me whether my PBR maps are wired up?

No. It reports the base colour texture and the UV coordinates, which is what decides whether a surface renders at all. Metalness, roughness and normal maps are separate image assets applied through SurfaceAppearance in Studio, and nothing inside the mesh file can say whether they are set up.

The Studio ZIPs from this site carry the texture for you: the Pivot Wizard and the Scale Fixer rebuild the mesh and keep model.obj, model.mtl and the texture image together.
