Roblox asset ID finder

Type a keyword and this asks Roblox's Creator Store toolbox API for you, live: every match comes back with its asset id, current name, item type, creator and whether it carries scripts, ready to copy. No sign-in, no stored searches, no index of ours in the middle.

Roblox Creator Store search · up to 10 results · nothing stored

Roblox's own index

The lookup runs against the Creator Store API Roblox publishes, not a copy we keep. Names, types, creators and script flags are read from the live record for the id, so a renamed or newly published asset shows up as it is right now.

Nothing stored

The keyword goes upstream, the matches come back, and no search, result or id is written to a database or a cache. Reload the page and there is nothing to restore, on purpose.

Ready to paste

Each row gives you the raw asset id on a copy button, plus the item's real type, so you know whether you are pulling in a whole model, a bare MeshPart or something that runs scripts before you use it.

Asset ID questions, answered

How do I find the asset ID of a Roblox item?

Search the Creator Store by keyword and read the id off the result. This tool does that lookup for you: it sends the keyword to Roblox's Creator Store toolbox API (your browser cannot call it directly, since Roblox sends no CORS headers) and lists the id, name, type, creator and script flag of every match, with a copy button for the id.

Is this Roblox's own data or your own database?

It is Roblox's own data, fetched while you wait. There is no local index, no cache and no stored search history, so the numbers you see were true at the moment you searched and nothing is carried over to the next request.

Does this search the Creator Store or the avatar catalog?

The Creator Store. The search is applied upstream by asset type instead of filtered afterwards, so a keyword returns real Studio assets: Models or MeshParts, whichever index is selected. Avatar accessories, UGC items, emotes and shirts live in a different Roblox index and do not appear here, and the type chip on every row is the real type Roblox stores for that id.

Models or MeshParts: which one do I want?

Models (asset type 10) are assemblies, a prop built from several parts or mesh parts, sometimes with scripts inside, which is what you want when you plan to drop the item into a place as-is. MeshParts (asset type 40) are single meshes with their texture, which is what you want when you need the geometry alone to retexture, re-pivot or animate yourself. Pick the index above the search box and Roblox is asked for that one index directly.

Can I use a found asset in my game?

That is per-asset and up to the creator: Creator Store items each carry their own price, permissions and rules. Open the Roblox page for the id and check what the creator allows before you rely on it. Generating your own prop removes the question, because you own what comes out.

Do you keep my searches or the results?

No. The keyword goes to Roblox, the results come back to your browser, and nothing is written to a database, a log of queries or a cache. That matches the other free tools here, where uploaded meshes are processed in memory and never stored.

What can I do with an asset ID once I have it?

An id is the handle Roblox uses everywhere: the asset page URL, the Asset Manager in Studio, a script, or a note for a teammate. The copy button puts the raw number on your clipboard so you can paste it wherever the id belongs.

Found an id but the mesh it points at fights you? The Mesh Checker measures any GLB or OBJ, the Scale Fixer and Pivot Wizard repair it, and the mesh guides cover the rest.
